The third Seminar of the Political School

During the dates of June 24-26, PIPS held the 3rd seminar in a row of the Political School with the topic “Foreign Policy and National Security” which was characterized by lectures, discussions and debates.

The lecturers were from different fields such as: Mrs. Gjyljeta Mushkolaj (Kosovo in a multilateral framework: Membership in major international organizations), Mr. Fisnik Korenica (Supranationalism and international organizations), Mr. Fabian Zhilla (Understanding violent extremism), Ms. Teuta Avdimetaj (Reintegration and Rehabilitation of Kosovar fighter in the Middle East), Mrs. Garentina Kraja (The source and consequences of conflicts in the Middle East and the impact on society and the international position of Kosovo), Mr. Gëzim Visoka (Redefinition of Kosovo’s foreign policy) as well as Mr. Enver Hoxhaj (Kosovo within the new regional and world context).

The seminar brought a productive and energetic debate between the group and the lecturers, but also this time special emphasis was placed on the topics of preventing and combating violent extremism, through lectures during which the participants of the Political School were informed about violent extremism in a global context and regional, the difference between the concepts of terrorism, extremism, radicalism, as well as statistics and initiatives undertaken for the repatriation and rehabilitation of fighters returned to Kosovo.
