Workshop with Municipal Community Safety Council of Shtimje Municipality

On 20th of February, 2020, Security Policy Research Center (SPRC) continued implementing the “Resilient Communities” Project activities by joining the regular meeting of the Municipal Council for Community Safety in Shtime Municipality. The security expert engaged, Mr.Agim Musliu to deliver thematic training on radicalism and violent extremism, presented in front of 16 participants, members of the Council, Council Chair Mr.Rrahman Jakupi, Council Coordinator Mr.Gazmend Ademaj dhe other Municipal Officials.

Being part of the regular Council meeting, SPRC was able to get informed and familiarized with the reports of the officials, the Annual Workplan of the Council, whilst the present participants were got an extended thematic overview on the theoretical aspects, legislation and the relevant context of the radicalism phenomena in Kosovo.

Trainers and the Council members agreed that despite of the fact that there is only one identified case as implicated in foreign regions effected by the phenomena, such as Syria, training and activities that expand the knowledge on the phenomena, the state legislation on preventing violent extremism are welcomed and can serve as preventive measures.

SPRC will continue with the upcoming activity in Shtimje Municipality, with the Municipal Assembly Members.
