Workshop with Municipal Community Safety Council of Prizren Municipality

On 13 of February, 2020, Security Policy Research Center (SPRC) joined the regular meeting of the Municipal Council for Community Safety, in Prizren Municipality, to deliver the presentation, designed for this council of 24 members, in the scope of “Resilient Communities” Project.

Thanks to the collaboration of the Municipal Mayor, Mr.Mytaher Haskuka, the Councils’ Coordinator, Mr.Idaim Kryeziu, and other responsible Municipal Officials for enabling this activity, Mr.Xhabir Hamiti, The Executive Director of SPRC, made the opening remarks, whilst the engaged security expert, presented a thematic summary of radicalism, starting from the main notions and concepts, the historical timeline and their contextual relevance to developments in Kosovo; the respective legislation in central level and the role of supportive and implementing mechanisms in this multidimensional endeavor to prevent radicalism and extremism that might lead to terrorism.

Participants expressed their interest in getting updated information regarding the central government’s engagement and cooperation with NGO-s and other involved institution in this cause, and expressed their willingness to continue cooperating with SPRC in having another similar activity, in the near future, in order to give chance to a wider and deeper discussions in the matters of the topic.
