Democracy Plus (D+) has organized a workshop with youth in Prizren about risks coming from online radicalization and violent extremism focused on social media where youth are mostly exposed. This workshop presented to and discussed with youth the impact of internet on radicalization, videos and propaganda that may be either accessed through internet (different platforms) or shared via social media and brought concrete examples to the link between online platforms, social media and radicalization leading to violent extremism. Also, the participants had two exercises and one scenario to discuss about. The first exercise was about testing the knowledge and level of information of the participants on the online radicalization in order to help us prepare the presentation according to the needs identified. The second exercise proved an increase in the level of knowledge among participants compared to the first exercise. Present in this workshop where also representatives of ATRC and GCERF who followed for some time the discussions of the participants.
The workshop gathered 15 participants (11F and 4M) of ages between 15 to 24 years old.
