In the last paper, PIPS has analyzed the approach and role of Kosovo in the global fight against violent extremism, drawing the following conclusions:

  • In the global fight against violent extremism, Kosovo has demonstrated itself as a rational actor, taking responsibility for the repatriation and reintegration of its citizens from the areas;
  • Kosovo’s institutions have shown the capacity to undertake and fulfill global commitments that contribute to international peace and security;
  • Kosovo enjoys religious tolerance, but international media reporting has created the impression that the country is plagued by religious radicalization and extremism;
  • Furthermore, Kosovo has also identified ethno-political radicalization as harmful to its stability, peace and security.
